Join Elspeth and her puppets in this rollicking tale of intrigue and hilarious adventure.
How will the librarian deliver the Summer Reading Club (SRC) medal to the library? There are many who want it and are trying their hardest to get it! The librarian must succeed even though a big bad wolf, a toilet plunger, and an animated head of broccoli are in the way! It’s a laugh-a-minute for all ages as the librarian outfoxes, outwits and outruns those who stand in the way.
Elspeth Bowers has been doing puppetry for more than 50 years since her first job at the Vancouver Public Library in 1972. She was co-owner operator of a puppet company, Peter Pan Puppeteers in the 1970s and early 1980s when she was part of a duo who performed puppet shows at birthday parties, Christmas parties, and during hospital visits. In the 70's she began hosting a variety of programs in libraries and other venues around Vancouver, including puppet shows (full stage and lap puppetry) and puppet-making workshops for kids. You can view her online Summer Reading Club performances for Fraser Valley Regional Library (2020 and 2022) online.
