Thermal Leak Detector at FVRL

Fraser Valley Regional Library (FVRL) offers easy-to-use, portable Thermal Leak Detectors for loan.

Thermal Leak Detectors use an infrared sensor to detect surface temperature.

Through Thermal Leak Detector lending, we hope to assist our customers with the ability to test their homes for thermal loss. Using this information, customers can improve their home’s efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and lower their energy bill.

Borrowing a Thermal Leak Detector With Your FVRL Card

Thermal Leak Detectors circulate through the FVRL system as part of the floating collection. If we don’t have one available at your local library, we can put a hold on the next available one. You can check availability at your library or search online in the FVRL catalogue.

You may check out your Thermal Leak Detector for a three-week loan period. If there are holds on the kit, you may only keep it for two weeks. Please return your Thermal Leak Detectors on time to any FVRL location. The Playground collection is available to FVRL full-access cardholders only. See Getting a Library Card for more details.
