Borrowing a Solar Panel With Your FVRL Card
Solar Panels circulate through the FVRL system as part of the floating collection. If we don’t have one available at your local library, we can put a hold on the next available backpack and it will be delivered to your nearest FVRL location. You can check availability at your library or search online in the FVRL catalogue.
You may check out your Solar Panel for a three-week loan period. If there are holds on the kit, you may only keep it for two weeks. Please return your kit on time to any FVRL location. The Playground collection is available to FVRL full-access cardholders only. See Getting a Library Card for more details.

FAQs
Where is the on/off switch on the Solar Panel?
The Solar Panel does not have one. Once placed in the sun, it is ready to go when you are.
How efficient is the Solar Panel?
Of the sunlight it receives, 24% is converted into usable energy.
Why does the Solar Panel not seem to be charging?
Please check the solar panel is not in the shade. Reposition if necessary. If the sun is intermittent, consider charging a battery bank and then charge your device from the battery bank.
