Policy Statement

The Board of Fraser Valley Regional Library is responsible for setting and approving all policies that govern FVRL’s business. Policies provide a reference work for Board members, employees, and the public of how FVRL is governed.

Purpose

To provide standards to support the effective development and maintenance of policies.

Scope

This Policy applies to all Board Policies and Operational Policies.

Policy Format

Policy Documents should include some or all of the following sections as appropriate, and may include other sections:

  1. Policy Statement (Mandatory);
  2. Purpose (Optional);
  3. Scope (Mandatory);
  4. Other sections as required (Optional);
  5. Definitions (Optional); and
  6. Related Documents (Optional).
