Inspired by the revolutionary work of Pablo Picasso, this workshop introduces participants to expressive portrait sculpture through clay. Students will explore how artists break traditional rules of representation by rearranging, simplifying, or exaggerating facial features. Through demonstrations and guided exercises, participants will learn essential hand-building techniques used in figurative sculpture. Discussions will introduce key ideas from Cubism and modern art while encouraging creative experimentation. Rather than pursuing realism, students will focus on expression, composition, and personal interpretation. The workshop invites participants to see familiar subjects from fresh and unexpected perspectives. Beginners and experienced artists alike will enjoy the freedom of creating a unique sculptural portrait. Participants will leave with an original clay artwork that celebrates individuality and creative risk-taking.
