Join Dionne Legge, CNP, for an interactive workshop exploring Sustainable Nutrition for Families and Planet. Participants will learn how healthy food choices can be affordable, enjoyable, and supportive of both family health and environmental sustainability. Topics include practical meal-planning strategies to incorporate more plant-based foods, reduce food waste, and understand the benefits of eating locally. Each session will include a short presentation, group discussion, and an engaging nutrition-focused activity.
Dionne Legge, CNP, is a Certified Nutritional Practitioner and the in-house nutritionist for Choices Market. She holds a diploma in Applied Holistic Nutrition from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition. Dionne brings a strong commitment to sustainability to her work, with a particular interest in food systems, local food production, and helping people reconnect with the land as a pathway to both personal and ecological well-being.
This program is intended for adults, but children are welcome to accompany them. Colouring sheets will be provided for children.
April 9, Session 1: Foundations of Sustainable Nutrition for Families
What sustainable nutrition means for families and planet. How food choices impact personal health and the environment. Discussion on plant forward eating patterns without perfection or pressure, and an introduction to local food systems and seasonality.
April 16, Session 2: Practical Strategies for Every Day Life
Turning ideas into action. Meal planning to include more plant based foods. Reducing food waste at home. Budget friendly strategies for sustainable eating.
Please register for each session individually. Participants are encouraged to attend both sessions, but it is not mandatory.
