Disc Golf (Lending Collection)

Disc Golf kits are part of The Playground at FVRL. They are available for loan – free with your FVRL card!

Get Out and Golf with a Disc Golf Kit

A fast-growing outdoor sport, disc golf is played like regular golf except with discs thrown into baskets. A round of disc golf exercises more than muscles – it even exercises the brain! Disc golf uniquely supports the STEAM related learning principles of math, engineering, and physics as players learn about course geometry, disc turning radius, speed, and game scoring.

Fun and accessible to players of all ages and abilities, disc golf can be played year round at the many free courses throughout the region – rain is no deterrent! Play on your own or with friends – it's a great way to spend time in nature, and exercise at your own pace.

Borrowing a Disc Golf Kit With Your FVRL Card

Our Disc Golf kits circulate through the FVRL system as part of our floating collection. If we don’t have one available at your local library, we can put a hold on the next available kit. You can check availability at your library or search online in the FVRL catalogue.

You may check out your Disc Golf kit for a three-week loan period. If there are holds on the kit, you may only keep it for two weeks. Please return your Disc Golf kit on time to any FVRL location. The Playground collection is available to FVRL full access cardholders only. See Getting a Library Card for more details.

Each 2-Player Disc Golf Kit Contains

  • 3 Orange discs (fairway driver, midrange, putter)
  • 3 Blue discs (fairway driver, midrange, putter)
