This prize represents a remarkable achievement. Reading aloud to your child regularly supports brain development and strengthens the caregiver-child relationship. Your child builds language, literacy and social skills when you read aloud.

Children who enter kindergarten with essential pre-reading skills have an advantage. They start school ready to read and have greater success throughout their school years.

We encourage you to continue reading with your child through kindergarten and beyond, to instill a lifelong love of books and learning.
