Adult Literacy

READ FOR LIFE

Did you know that 40 per cent of adults in BC have low literacy? Literacy is an essential skill; it is the ability to understand and use printed information in daily activities, at home, at work and in the community. It is not about whether you can read or not; literacy is about how well you read.

Visit Fraser Valley Regional Library for help improving your reading or writing skills. We offer free adult learning materials (ADL Collection) and programs. Our friendly staff can also refer you to local literacy education programs, including one-on-one tutoring.

Happy Holidays! All FVRL locations will close early at 2 pm on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. We will also be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. See Holiday Closures for more information.

Holds pickup options are changing on January 2. Tell us who's allowed to pick up holds on your behalf (even if you don't live at the same address), and we'll put a note on your account. Tell us in person, by phone or by email. Or if you prefer, fill out this Holds Pickup Letter of Authorization.form to authorize up to four people on your behalf.
