Investing in Your Library’s Future

Fraser Valley Regional Library is an essential part of a community that reaches from Boston Bar to Tsawwassen. By donating to your library, you assist us with continuing to provide books, materials, and programs that benefit everyone in this community. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Fraser Valley Regional Library is a registered charity and accepts donations of books, materials, and equipment.

Tax Receipts

We will issue tax receipts for amounts $10.00 and over. Financial donations may be designated to a specific community library, materials, library program or equipment.

These donations are separate from the Friends of the Library program.

Book Donations

What Does the Library Accept?

Hard cover and paperback books that are in excellent condition and were published within the last 5 years.

What Does the Library NOT Accept?

  • Magazines
  • Textbooks
  • Newspapers
  • Materials in poor condition
  • Materials older than 5 years
  • DVDs, CDs and VHS videos (because we can not easily verify content)

What Happens to My Donation?

Items donated become the permanent property of FVRL and may be:

  • Added to the Library collection
  • Included in a Library Book Sale
  • Donated to another institution
  • Otherwise disposed of by recycling

Are Income Tax Receipts Issued for Donations?

No. FVRL cannot appraise the value of any book donation and therefore will not issue tax receipts for donated materials

Will My Donation Be Sold at a Library Book Sale?

If your donation is not added to the collection, it may be sold at a Book Sale and the money will be used to buy new Library materials.
