KIDS SUMMER READING CLUB 2012

Strange... But True? - Preschool to Grade 6

Kids are invited to investigate great reading this summer at Fraser Valley Regional Library! Find out whether what you read is Strange…But True? when you join the annual Summer Reading Club (SRC) sponsored by the British Columbia Library Association and Libraries and Literacy – Ministry of Education.
Kids will receive a fabulous free Reading Record and bookmark, as well as collect weekly stickers to keep track of all the strange reading they do. Explore this year’s SRC theme through fun free programs, contests and displays all summer. Kids who complete their Reading Record will be eligible to receive a special Summer Reading Club medal!
Regular reading during the summer helps kids to maintain or even improve their reading and literacy skills. Studies show that voluntary reading is the number one factor in establishing good reading habits. Summer Reading Club makes reading fun and our expert staff can help kids find just the right book or magazine from among a wide variety of library materials.
Registration for kids of all ages begins as early as mid- June. Phone or drop by your local FVRL location for further details.
Check out the Kids’ Summer Reading Club website at www.kidssrc.ca for reading activities, games and tips.
