A unique 20-25 minute drop-in program for babies, newborn to 23 months that introduces them and a parent/caregiver to the world of children’s literature, song, rhyme and rhythm.
Chronic Pain Self-Management

Do you or a loved one live with chronic pain? The Ladner Pioneer Library partners with the Centre on Aging at the University of Victoria to bring you a free six-session workshop for persons experiencing chronic pain conditions. Parent-Child Mother Goose

Sharing rhymes, stories and songs can enhance the relationship between parents and their children. Come take part in this interactive program for parents/caregivers and their child, newborn to 15 months. Location: Ladner Early Childhood Development Hub. Network with other parents/caregivers. Snacks are provided.

Pirate Tales

Celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Week with a half-hour drop-in storytime of books, songs and puppets for little pirates 2 - 5 years old. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate.
Finding Your Way in Residential Care - Seniors Housing Workshop
Monday, Sep 27th
1:30pm-3:00pm
This free afternoon workshop is for seniors who are considering moving into residential care, or for family caregivers of aging seniors. When home-care services are not enough, difficult decisions lie ahead. Presenter ML Burke will help you understand the available options. Handouts included. A do-it-yourself package focusing on care facilities in South Delta will also be available for a small fee.
Kids Day Off @ the Library - Mike's Critters

On this non-instructional day, children in primary grades and their parent/caregiver(s) will not only be captivated but also educated by Mike's Critters, a collection of reptiles, amphibians, birds, insects, arachnids and mammals. Drop in and discover some weird and wonderful creatures during this free 45 - 60 minute program.
Homeschoolers' Open House

Come meet other homeschoolers and library staff for an introduction to library resources. Younger students will be treated to storytime while parents and tweens/teens will be shown key databases for home study. Light refreshments will be served.

Antarctic Adventure with Ursula Easterbrook

“A trip to Antarctica is not only the dream, but also the adventure of a lifetime” (Ursula Easterbrook). Photographic Artist Ursula Easterbrook returns to Ladner Pioneer Library to share her spectacular photos from her 4-week trip with Joseph Van Os Photo Safaris to Antarctica. Ursula’s trip began in Ushuaia, Argentina (the world’s southernmost city) and continued to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and on to the Antarctic Peninsula. Come hear about her trip and delight in her breathtaking photos of penguins, icebergs, whales, sea lions, elephant seals, birds and more!
