A unique 2-session program (each session is 20 minutes) for babies that introduces them and their parents/caregivers to the world of children's literature, song, rhyme and rhythm. Join in for a bouncing good time!
For newborns to 23 months.

Family Storytime
Thursdays- This program ends May 27th
10:30am-11:00am
A half hour of stories, songs, rhymes and finger plays. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to join in and have fun! Ages 2-5. No registration.
Pajama Storytime
Mondays- This program ends May 17th
7:00pm-7:30pm
Children are welcome to come in their pajamas and to bring their favourite stuffed animal! Ages 2-6. No registration.

Spring Break Special: The Trollsons in "The One-Eyed Troll"

The Trollsons are a magical and comedic family of Trolls from the Canadian forest. The Trollsons have been entertaining at festivals and special events around Canada since 1995, as well as touring to Singapore, China, and Japan.
Comic mask-theatre and audience participation make this a show you won't want to miss!

Spring Break Special: Hip Hop, Pizza and Play

It's a day just for you! First, Curtis Clearsky, reknowned Salish Hip Hop Artist will entertain you with live acapella, sharing of traditional stories, contemporary spoken word and hip hop. Then it's time for PIZZA. Next: how about some board games…or X-Box on a big screen? Tell all your friends. It'll be the place to be! (No grown-ups or kids allowed!)
Graphic Novels: Where did they come from and where are they going?

Graphic Novel expert David Strutt from Imperial Hobbies in Richmond and buyer of Graphic Novels for Fraser Valley Regional Library is coming to tell us about this exciting new reading format. Home Schoolers' Tea

An Evening With BC Author Andreas Schroeder

Andreas will be reading from Renovating Heaven, his recently published autobiographical novel about growing up in the Fraser Valley during the 1950's and early 60's. The novel was nominated for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize, as well as the American Storytelling Award.
A resident of Mission for 27 years, and now residing on the Sunshine Coast, Andreas currently holds the Rogers Communication Chair in Creative Non-Fiction at UBC. Andreas' 43 year writing career includes works of fiction, non-fiction, radio drama, poetry, translations, journalism and literary criticism.

Author Reading: Meg Tilly

Meg Tilly, formerly a film actress, is best known for her roles in The Big Chill and Agnes of God – for which she won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1986, as well as an Oscar nomination. Tilly will read from her popular 2007 Young Adult novel, Porcupine. Seating is limited, so register early!

Live Well With Diabetes

Be Smart! Learn what you can do to stay healthy. If you are living with diabetes or if you are at risk for diabetes, ask the health care professionals and experts your questions. A local Pharmacist will talk about "knowing your numbers" and will perform blood tests. This program is in Panjabi.

Gordon Mohs Reads Ancient Aboriginal Origin Poems

In celebration of Canada Book Week, enjoy this unique opportunity to hear the English translation of the Coast Salish stories describing the beginning of the world. These origin stories, or "Ancient Songs of Y-Ail-Mihth" are retold by Mr. Mohs and provide insight into the traditional teachings and culture of the Coast Salish peoples.
