Comic Drawing Workshop

Registration required for this program

Get creative and create your own amazing piece of comic art. Join artist Carla Dearman in this two session workshop to learn cool tips and techniques to make your own comic. Carla will cover important skills like character design, page layout and composition, figure drawing, inking and more! Teens in grades 8 to 12 can register starting March 11.

Join us for refreshments and the official unveiling of our beautiful new Terry Fox Library educational garden. City of Port Coquitlam gardeners will be on hand to explain the varieties of plants chosen for their ecological and esthetic value. One-hour guided walking tours of select City of Port Coquitlam gardens will also be available.


National Aboriginal Day Storytime with Cree Storyteller Lorre Gibson ||| Saturday, Jun 15th

Up, Up and Away! Launch the summer with an out of this world performance by storyteller and puppeteer, Elspeth Bowers. Sixty minutes of stories, songs, puppets, and laughter will put you over the moon. Free tickets available starting June 3.

Blast Off with Janine the Jenius! ||| Tuesday, Jul 16th

Join Janine the Jenius in the Science Works Lab and explore what makes things go Up, Up and Away!  Junior Geniuses will witness the power of gases, like the power that makes rockets blast-off! Watch out overhead for the amazing astrocork and the acrobatic rocket balloons, count down to the rocket cannon race, and cool off with an exploding space gas bubble on your head. Be on time for this uplifting science show - you don't want to be late for this lift-off! Free tickets available starting July 2.
