It has completely shaped the landscapes over a vast area, resulting in unique geological formations that have been puzzling scientists for years. Crime Writer's Panel

Three local authors explain what goes into writing believable murder mysteries and thrillers, and answer all the questions that you're just dying to ask! Stefano Mazzega is an RCMP forensic scientist; Derrick Carew is a social worker at the Colony Farm Forensic Psychiatric Institution and author of the Killer Trail (2014); and Owen Laukkanen is a former poker player and author of The Professionals (2012), Criminal Enterprise (2013) and Kill Fee (2014). This presentation is part of regular programming offered by Tri-City Wordsmiths, a local writing group that meets regularly at the Terry Fox Library, six times a year.


Reading Buddies - Teen Volunteers Needed

Volunteer as a reading buddy to a child in grades K to 3 to help them improve their reading skills. Show your buddy how cool reading is! This is a great opportunity to gain volunteer hours for your community work experience requirement and will look awesome on your resume. Teens in grades 8 to 12 may pick up an application at the Terry Fox Library information desk. (Sessions run for six weeks at a time.)

Teen Advisory Group

The Teen Advisory Group (TAG) advises and helps to plan and develop teen-oriented programs and services. TAG members organize programs for teens, volunteer as reading buddies and help with other library events. The meetings are fun and always include snacks! TAG membership look great on resumes, job and college applications. Volunteer hours are granted for attending monthly meetings and volunteering at the library events. membership is open to all teens. If you'd like to join, attend the next meeting or visit the library to pickup an application! 

Design it, Draw it, Post it!

City of Langley Library is getting a new look in conjunction with the Timms Community Centre renewal project. The library will be open regular hours during the renovation! However, the exterior book drop is closed. Please visit any of the Langley Township libraries to drop your materials off after hours.
