Donate your left over garden seeds to the seed library! Did you know the Fort Langley Library has a seed exchange? If you're an avid gardener, have grown your own seeds, or if you just have some extra commercial seed left over from this year's gardening season, donate them to the seed library! You are also welcome to take seeds that others have left.

Visit the Fort Langley Library to enjoy a little display of yarn bombing. What is yarn bombing you ask?  Why knitting graffiti of course! All lovingly crafted by the Fort Langley Knitting Circle, that meets weekly at the library.

Artist in Residence and Gallery Display - Kim Ginther Bonneteau - Mixed Media Artist

Fort Langley Library celebrates Cultures Days by welcoming mixed media artist, Kim Ginther Bonneteau! The artist's canvases will be on display at the library for the month of September and Kim will demonstrate how she applies her artist techniques to create her pieces. Each piece starts with and idea, and develops layer by layer.  She uses paint, paper, found objects, glue, wax, pastels, and pencil crayon. Sanding, scratching, gouging, and stitching all add to the texture and personality of each piece. Kim lives in Mission, B.C. Her artwork is also available for purchase.

 Join local celebrated author, Jane Watt, and painter/book designer Richard Cole as they read from their debut children’s book, The Boy Who Paints, a beautifully created story about a boy who derives his creative inspiration to paint from the everyday objects and landscape around him.  Also, as a special treat the author illustrator team will share the sequel to The Boy Who Paints - The Girl Who Writes.

City of Langley Library will be closed Sunday, September 21 to accommodate construction work to the water supply at City Hall.

City of Langley Library is getting a new look in conjunction with the Timms Community Centre renewal project. The library will be open regular hours during the renovation! However, the exterior book drop is closed. Please visit any of the Langley Township libraries to drop your materials off after hours.
