What is NetLibrary?
NetLibrary is an online resource that allows FVRL members to access, download and listen to a broad selection of unabridged eAudiobooks on your home PC, laptop or portable media device.
What's in the NetLibrary eAudiobook collection?
Available eAudiobooks include bestsellers from the world’s leading publishers. Users can choose books from a broad variety of categories including everything from business and self-help, to romance and adventure.
NetLibrary gives language enthusiasts access to the entire catalogue of the Pimsleur Language Instruction. The languages series provide learning instructions in English for 38 world languages and instructions in 13 world languages for learning to speak English.
How do I get Access to NetLibrary?
If this is your first time using NetLibrary, you must log in with your FVRL barcode number and your four-digit PIN here. You will be automatically be redirected to the NetLibrary website.
Once on the NetLibrary website, click on Create a Free Account. You will be prompted to enter a username and password of your choice. Remember the username and password as you will need them for future visits to NetLibrary.
How
many eAudiobooks can I check out at one time?
You may have up to 10 eAudiobooks checked out on your account at any given time. Please note that if you have 10 eAudiobooks checked out already, you cannot download another one until the checkout period expires for one of the ten.
Do NetLibrary eAudioBooks expire?
Yes, eAudiobooks have a three week loan period after which they will expire automatically. Once an eAudiobook file has expired you will need to manually delete it from your computer or portable media device. Please note that you cannot check in eAudiobooks before the checkout period expires.
Can
I renew an eAudiobook?
Yes, you may renew an eAudiobook once for another three week loan period. You can renew by logging in to your NetLibrary account and clicking on My Checked Out Items. This will open your list of currently checked out items. Select the eAudiobook you want to renew and click on Download this eAudiobook. This will open the download screen – click on Renew your checkout for 21 days (No Download Only license to play file).
How
do I listen to an eAudiobook?
You can download the eAudiobook files to your personal computer for playback using NetLibrary Media Center, Windows Media Player, iTunes (eAudiobooks in MP3 format only) or a portable listening device. For detailed instructions please click here.
Please note that you cannot burn eAudiobook files to a CD for listening on a CD player. If your do burn an eAudiobook file, encryptions on that file will render the file unusable.

Can I play eAudiobooks on my Macintosh computer?
Yes, but only in MP3 format. Media Center and the NetLibrary website do not support eAudiobook downloads to a Mac. Therefore to play an eAudiobook in MP3 format on a Mac, you must manually move the MP3 file from the website to the Mac and then play it. Please note that Protected WMA format cannot be played on a Mac.
Can I play eAudiobooks on my iPod?
Yes, but only in MP3 format. You can download and play an eAudiobook in MP3 format on an iPod if you use NetLibrary Media Center. Although the NetLibrary website does not support eAudiobook downloads to an iPod, you can manually download the eAudiobook in MP3 format from the website and play it on your iPod.
Which
Portable Listening Devices support NetLibrary eAudioBooks??
You can listen to eAudiobooks on a wide range of portable media devices including portable music players and portable media centers from Apple, Creative Labs, Samsung, Toshiba and other manufacturers.

How can I access further NetLibrary Technical Support??
You can access further technical help by logging into your NetLibrary account and clicking on Help (upper right hand corner of the screen). Alternately, you can correspond with a NetLibrary representative by clicking on Contact Us (lower right hand corner of the screen) and filling out the form or calling NetLibrary at 1-800-848-5800 and selecting option seven.
