What can be borrowed on Inter-Library Loan?
You can only borrow books that are not currently in FVRL’s collection and the books must have been published more than 18 months ago. Microfiche is also available through Inter-Library Loans.
What is not available to be borrowed on Inter-Library Loan?
You cannot borrow DVDs, CDs, CD-ROMS, videos or cassette tapes through Inter-Library Loans.
How do I place or track an Inter-Library Loan request?
You must visit or telephone your local FVRL location and have library staff place the request for you. Library staff can also track your request once it’s been made. To find your local FVRL location click here.
When will a loan arrive?
The average wait is six to eight weeks. Your Inter-Library Loan request may be coming from a library anywhere in British Columbia and in some cases from other provinces.
Where do I pick up my Inter-Library Loan request?
Pick-up your Inter-Library Loan book at the FVRL location where you placed your request.
What if the book I want isn’t listed in OUTLOOK Online?
Speak to library staff. They can place a request that will be searched across Canada.
